In 1948, Our Lady's School was established in Downey, California by the Sisters of Notre Dame.  In 1998, O.L.P.H. celebrated with the theme "50 Years of Educational Excellence Bringing Three Generations Closer to God."  We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic O.L.P.H. alumni, teachers, parents, and students interested in planning a 60th anniversary celebration of Our Lady's School between September 11 and September 15, 2008.

It is important to begin spreading the word and collecting accurate home and e-mail addresses of alumni and all people who support Our Lady's School.  If you are interested in any part of the anniversary planning, please contact Diane Davis at (562) 869-0963.  Updates on the event's progress will be posted on this Web site.  Please see the proposed schedule of events by clicking on the "What's New" button.

Our last reunion celebration in 2002

Our first All-Class Reunion and Sunday brunch was held on September 29, 2002 at the Rio Hondo Country Club, 10627 Old River School Road, Downey, California from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.  The 9:30 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church that morning was dedicated to the alumni.  The school was open to viewing after Mass and before the brunch.  You may view photos of the reunion by clicking on the "Photos" buttons.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help School was founded September 13, 1948.  In order to comply with changed California State safety laws, our parish school needed to replace the aging playground equipment.  The equipment was over 40 years old and many of you have used it throughout the years.  Through various financial assistance from foundations, alumni, fundraisers, local businesses, and school and parish families, the dream was realized in a ceremony on Friday, November 22, 2002 when the school invited the students, faculty and staff in celebrating the dedication of the new equipment.
